This website is going to serve as cousin bait (unsure if the term originated there, but it’s currently my favorite term… SO accurate for what blogging genealogists are trying to accomplish!). My fantasy is that I’ll someday get an email saying:
“Hi Daphne! I just saw your blog and wanted to let you know that we’re 17th cousins twice removed! How cool is that? I have our shared family line back to the BCs: it has full source citations, and I’m attaching it to this email with all the documentation. Oh, and we’re related to <insert rich-sounding name here>. He has a lot of money he doesn’t know what to do with and he’s really into genealogy but doesn’t have much time: he’s willing to pay you a salary to continue our research. Sound good?”
